Big data power by technology is the foundation of all mega trends that are happening.
Over the past 25 years, I have studied, practiced and managed data and analytics teams leveraging technology. To date, most organisations have invested in Information Technology (“IT”), but focused on the Big ‘T’ while leaving the ‘little i’ behind. The silver lining from the Covid pandemic is the acceleration of digitalisation and realisation that the Data is the real asset. The organisation that can best refine the customer’s data into ‘actionable insights’ using AI / ML technology will surge ahead.
The rise of generative AI chat boxes such as Chat GPT and Bard in 2023 have made big data and technology accessible to non-technologist and data scientists. The race has started across all industries. It should also be noted the data regulation will also accelerate across all markets and it is important that data is used safely with clear guardrails as the customer’s trust can go like a house of cards.
